Acoustic Guitar or Classical Guitar?

Hi,
i want to start playing guitar but I don’t know which kind of guitar to get!
I am currently learning how to play classical guitar(that’s the one with the nylon strings, right??) at school
I asked if I could borrow one but they said no.. :(
Which is harder to play?
and which one sounds better (in your opinion)
thanks :)

(and if I should get an acoustic guitar, how is this one?

About equally hard – the steel-string has higher tension strings, but the neck is narrower and the action should be lower if it’s properly set up. Playing techniques and the types of music they’re used for are a lot different, but you can learn the basics on either. Your decision really depends on what kind of music you want to play.

An Epiphone PR-150 is a decent entry-level guitar, but pick one out personally from a music store if you can, to make sure it’s comfortable for you to play.

If you want to learn rock music then go with Acoustic guitar otherwise Classical guitar is better. Which kind of guitar classes would you like to attend? My cousin is going in http://mokena.schoolofrock.com
to learn Guitar ans she is amazing with guitar. They also arrange music camps to boost up the confidence of students.

Hi Eunchae. It does really depend on what you would like to play, but think of the ‘classic’ guitar as an instrument that you’ll play using your fingers of both hands, the acoustic (steel string) mainly as an instrument that you use with a ‘plectrum’ to strum CHORDS.
You will be ‘picking’ out the NOTES’ within the CHORDS and focusing on the way each can be sounded with the ‘classic’ and of course it is also ‘strummed’,but is much more suited to tone, whereas
The steel is more used for VOLUME and PROJECTION of your overall sound.
The classic is a more intimate and personal instrument.if you decide you like playing, get TWO,then you can develop both techniques.thereAre many bargains you will find out there, only DON’T put steels on a guitar that is meant for ‘classic’ NYLON strings (I’m sure you know that!).
But whatever suites you, always keep in mind that learning is not a CHORE,you will very soon discover your own voice,if you enjoy learning, and it will take you on an adventure of discovery.for the rest of your life,so go for it!
