Can you learn to play pop music on a classical guitar as you would on a different one?

I’ve inherited a classical guitar. If I’m going to learn to play guitar I’m going to want to play oasis, Beatles and that sort of stuff. Is it possible to ignore its a classic guitar and just strum chords as normal??
A different one is an acoustic guitar that isn’t a classic one. Steel strings and stuff. I’m a total beginner so have no knowledge.

Yes you can, you just won’t get the same sound you would get from steel strings, but don’t put steel strings on a classical guitar.

No, you can’t, because classical guitar is always played fingerstyle and never with a pick. You would be much better off with a steel string flattop acoustic guitar.

You will be able to learn to play guitar and a classical one. It one sound as good, however most people for example myself started on a very basic cheap nylon string one.

classical guitbox can do neat things to beetles tunes, the green grass of home, let it be,blue spanish eyes
the tremelo technique can make these sound really nice, the lighter weight in comparison of plastic strings, with the ability to move larger volumes of air,but also a bit more fragile with a pick
mean it can be strummed, but not take the punishment of steel strings

Of course. Still same Tuning. All same notes. Maybe wont sound exactly as recorded by the artist but if you play correctly im sure music will occur. Nylon string is good choice for starting out.
