Do you have to learn classical guitar before learning acoustic guitar?

I didnt but someone said that you have to

A classical guitar *is* an acoustic guitar. You don’t plug it in, after all. You do not have to start on a classical guitar and it’s a bad idea to do so unless you’re into playing classical music. If you have no interest in classical music, start with a steel string flattop acoustic guitar or even an electric guitar if that’s a better fit for your musical interests.

Good luck, and don’t forget to get lessons.

You don’t NEED to learn classical before acoustic, but learning classical guitar at the beginning helps immensely in learning and understanding other styles. from classical you can go anywhere.
