I am too old to go to school for music?
I am 22 and am thinking about going to school for music. I do have some backround in music. I have been playing metal guitar for about 5 years. But i cant read music and no pretty much no theory. I really want to dedicate myself to music wich is why I want to go to school for it. But to get your degree in music you have to learn classical guitar. Im I to old to start learning classical guitar? I feel like I should of started way younger with a more traditional method of guitar if I wanted to get my degree in music.
I feel the same as you. Ive been playing since I was 15. On and off I would practice. So Id get rusty all over again if I didnt play enough. Lately I picked it up again and though Ive forgotten most Ive learned I can still master some new songs….a few of them finger-style. I think you would still be successful in educating yourself to guitar.
Just recently my cousin taught me a little music theory with mathematics and composure. Its eye opening. I definitely think music theory would help…
