I want to learn classical guitar?

I want to learn classical guitar, does anyone know good websites or books for learning it?

Phil has given you the best advice, Rip. Get the help of a competent teacher. Classic guitar is a technical challenge to learn to play well, and a personal instructor will save you from developing bad execution habits that would be hard to break later.

However, to just test the waters, I recommend this book:

"You Can Teach Yourself Classic Guitar" by Will Bay.

It is well written and easy to follow; but despite its title, you still need to obtain personal instructional help. It is available in most music shops for a modest price. Good luck to you in this worthy pursuit.

I would get lessons, like I do. That’s the best way to learn it, because the person you’re with already plays the guitar and knows what you’re going through. They’re not too expensive, mine are $15 a week for 30 minutes.

You can teach yourself an instrument only as far as you can teach yourself mathematics. If you think you can teach yourself advanced calculus just from a book, then you can teach yourself an instrument at a high level. Otherwise, call around. Call music shops, university music departments, and music conservatories in your area and ask about guitar teachers. Take a few lessons from some of them and see how it goes. I think you will like it.

There is SO much to learn about playing an instrument from a teacher that you could never get from a book. I think you would be missing out on a great deal of the enjoyment to be had from playing your instrument.
