Is it a good idea to jump from classical to electric guitar?

ive been learning classical guitar for a while now and now i want to try electric guitar. should i learn acoustic guitar first or can i go straight to electric? or will it make any difference?

If possible, you could try both=). For techniques, you could relate with artists you like. For example, an electric guitar influence of mine is Mathew Bellamy of Muse;).

It won’t make much of a difference, just a little in terms of experience (like sound wise, and you can play more songs on electric than accoustic, depending what your person preference is), and obviously price. You can try electric if you want, you don’t have to start from accousitc, it just costs less that’s all. If you are more interested towards the electric then try that. Don’t play something you have no interest for, because you won’t have fun :) However, if you want to experiment you can also try and "borrow" guitars if the stores will let you. Some start on electric, or just play electric, and vise versa for accoustics :) It’s just what you prefer more. All in all, there isn’t much of a difference, only a small body for most, and with an amp, that’s it really. The same can be applied to accoustic guitars too, so there isn’t much of a difference at all really.

well, i dont know alot about classical guitar, but with electric u play mostly power chords (if ur playing the rhythm guitar part). if u want to play lead guitar u have to find the Box of fretts that that song is writen in, then u just pluck individual notes in that box in any pattern and on any/all strings. it really isn’t hard once u get the hang of it. but no, i dont think ul have TOO much, trouble, but like i said, i dont know much about classic guitar, so i hope wat i told u about electric will help!

If playing the electric guitar is what you really want to do, you should start immediately.

There is no right or wrong path when it comes to art.
