Is it possible to learn classical guitar with only 2 fingers ?
had an accident about a year ago & I can only use my index finger & pinky. I want to learn how to play but I’m just wondering would I be wasting my time.
thanks for the answers.
Unfortunately there are numerous challenges to playing a stringed instrument using only a few fingers. I’d advise to try something that might be more friendly, such as drums. The frets would be impossible to hold down with only 2 fingers.

It would take work but if you could learn to play with your mobile hand and pick with only 2 fingers. It would be hard but there’s no reason you couldn’t do it. Don’t give up on it!!!

Django Reinhardt could use only the first and second fingers (and thumb) of his fretting hand. You would be in the same position but, on a positive note, you will have more of a stretch.
I don’t think you would be able to play classical guitar music as it can be very difficult. Also, the width of a classical guitar’s neck will mean you can’t wrap your thumb around it and use it to help play chords. I think you’d do better with the narrower neck of a steel string acoustic.
Ideally, you need a knowledgeable, open minded teacher to help. Perhaps altered or open tunings could help or even using fewer strings. I would say, give it a go. But remember, everyone finds playing the guitar very difficult when they first start.
Good luck.
