What is the role of the keyboard in a band?
i would like to start a band of my own. i have experienced playing on a band. I do the rythm guitar. Sadly, that band no longer meets.
I would like to know what’s the role of a keyboard during a band because the keyboard are really my specialty. I play classical and still know how to use chording methods(or playing by ear).
I just don’t know what should i do if i was on a band.

Well the a talented keyboard player can do a lot for a band. They can comp chords, play melodies, harmonize vocal lines, play bass lines… it’s really up to you.
The best way to get ideas is to simply listen to bands with great keyboard players/pianists.
