i am not a beginner to guitar but i am to classical guitar. what would be the best way to learn the style?

i’ve played electric and acoustic guitar for 3 years now, so im not a beginner to guitar. however, i recently got interested in learning classical and spanish style guitar, so i bought a classical guitar and i soon realized that it’s a very different and complicated style than what i’ve learned. i looked up lessons on the internet but they are all for people who have never picked up a guitar. i just need to learn the techniques and was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on methods, lessons, or books i could pick up that are for people who are not new to guitar altogether, just classical. thanks

Since you have 3 yrs experience with the guitar, I can now assume that you know how to sight read the musical staff for the guitar – The treble clef –
I will recommend one very good book for you to help you get started. GETTING INTO CLASSICAL GUITAR (with CD)
by Ben Bolt and Publsihed by MEL BAY – cost $17.95
If you cannot find it in your local book store they can order it for you or you can order it directly from Mel Bay publications.
Phone:1-800-863-5229 – They are very helpful in answering
any questions you may have about any of their guitar instructional books.

If you need to refresh your music theory I also recommend this
othe book: THE EVERYTHING MUSIC THEORY BOOK
(with CD) by Marc Schonbrun – cost $19.95

Both of these authors are classical guitarists.
Ben Bolt was a teen-ager rock guitarist converted to Classical Guitar and studied with Andres Segovia.

I don’t think you will be wasting your money getting these two
books. They will always be good reference material.

Good Luck and enjoy your Classical Guitar adventure.
