Learning both electric and classical guitars ?

I’ve been taking electric guitar for a couple of years , and I am planning to learn classical guitar .
Would it be a waste of money and time if I take both lessons ?
I’m not losing interest in electric guitar ( instead I LOVE IT ) , but I am also interested in the classical guitar .

Many people that play classical guitar are self taught. With a few years of playing electric you must know your way round a guitar so go it alone, maybe take the odd lesson/advice.
There is an excellent tutor book ‘Solo Guitar Playing’ by Noad that will give you most of what you need.

    Great.

At least you are curious and taking up the classical will give you a more well rounded approach to the overall experience with guitar, and its appreciation of playing and the music it can represent.

Finger style. Perfect to develop such techniques that you can eventually use with most others as Folk, Jazz and even alternative or Fusion expressions.

Having such versatility and variety at your command will open up a new world of personal ability to adjust for your own style and representations of whatever music you intend to practice, or perform.

And, it will enhance whatever you choose to tailor when it comes to your electric.

Never a waste of anything, once you realize the potential it can have when it comes to music done through our instruments of choice.

You may learn to love it, just as much.
